WebWe look forward to regular visits from the church’s “Open the Book” team, who really make the stories in the Bible come alive! Once a month, we welcome into school a team of Church volunteers who run a programme called ‘Open the Book’. The volunteers retell bible stories, focusing on Christian values, through drama and singing. WebHere at St. Margaret's Church, we have a small, dedicated team of six volunteers, who regularly visit two local Primary Academies once a month with 'Open the Book' assemblies: taking Bible stories into school and bringing these stories to life! These are stories taken from the Bible, either from the Old Testament or the New Testament.

From presentations in ten schools at the beginning, this has now grown to 2,900 schools in the United Kingdom with 16,000 storytellers. The work has also spread to Ghana.
